What is this program about?

We have noticed that children within the community do not have many opportunities to learn or practice the use of English. That’s where you can help!

You may find yourself contributing to an elementary, middle, or high school in and around Aborlan Township on Palawan Island. This means that your potential students could be between grade 1 and grade 12 and are between the ages of 7 and 18.

The teaching program is organized as an informal English class that allows you to organize a variety of activities such as music, songs, games, arts, sports, conversation exercises, and grammar exercises.

Be creative, but always keep in mind that everything should be based on teaching practical English for everyday situations in a fun and engaging way.

An important component of this program is the cultural exchange that will take place. School children are always very interested and willing to learn more about their family, country, culture and way of life.

How is the day to day and what will I do as a volunteer?

The day to day of the volunteer consists of a collaboration from Monday to Friday, approximately 4 or 5 hours, distributed during the morning or afternoon according to needs.

A typical volunteer day begins with breakfast at the accommodation with all the volunteers. At the end, the volunteers go to the project, where they meet with the local coordinator to organize the activities planned for the day.

Throughout the morning each volunteer contributes to the assigned tasks. A stop is made for lunch and, depending on the needs, they continue with the tasks or have free time.

The volunteer can visit nearby areas in his spare time. In the evening, the group has dinner and prepares for the next day.
