Zanzibar is a dream archipelago located 30 km off the coast of Tanzania and consists of three islands known as the Spice Islands: Unguja, Pemba and Mafia.

Unguja is the main island of the archipelago and encompasses the main tourist activities, in addition to the paradisiacal beaches of white sand and crystal clear waters. Here you can practice water sports and enjoy one of the best sunsets.

If you are going to make a trip to Tanzania, I recommend that you have at least 5 days to go to Zanzibar and visit all areas of the island. You will also have to take into account the rainy season, which is between March and May.

If I had to advise you the best time to travel to Zanzibar and volunteer in host schools in Zanzibar is probably the months of January and February or the months between June and October. You will also need to be prepared to pay $50 for the visa and have a valid passport valid for at least 6 months.

Places not to be missed: Stone Town, Changgu Island, Jambiani, Jozani Forest, Nungwi Beach, and much more.
