Volunteer program in teaching with children of different abilities

volunteer program in teaching with children of different abilities

“Your support adds up to the development of our children’s abilities and potential.”

There are many realities and challenges that are not often seen in countries like the Dominican Republic.  Therefore, volunteering in teaching with children of different abilities does not only give you the opportunity to get involved.  It also allows you to broaden your perspective when working with children, youth and adults.  Many of them face the harsh realities of the world.

If you decide to participate in the volunteer teaching program with children of different abilities you can see the positive impact that is left on the children, youth and adults you work with.  In addition to promoting social programmes aimed at a segment of the population facing difficult situations.

The aim of the programme is to empower children and young people by providing them with educational tools in which they can develop their potential and improve their own lives.

ACTIVITIES TO BE CARRIED OUT

Children and young people in schools often have a variety of developmental challenges.  The centers that provide care for many families are very expensive.  Therefore, with your skills and knowledge, children and young people can get the care they need.

For the above reasons, activities are carried out in which volunteers support the teaching program with children of different abilities such as:

  • Attend our school with didactic and educational activities.
  • Support in therapies for children and young adults with special needs.
  • Help with special events and outings.
  • Training and talks for community members of all ages.
  • Support with the maintenance and restoration of the centre.
  • Accompanying teachers with projects and activities aimed at children and young people with special needs.
  • Help with swimming lessons, sailing lessons and first aid for students aged 10 to 16.
  • Assist our social worker with youth, family and community development.
